The Sunflower Crown Gala

A Celebration of Excellence, Sisterhood & Legacy

The Sunflower Crown Gala is the signature fundraising celebration of the Sunflower Crown Academy Foundation

— honoring the brilliance, leadership, and cultural pride of young Black girls in South Fulton.

Inspired by the legacy of Mary McLeod Bethune, this gala uplifts the next generation of scholars, innovators, and community leaders.

A Pageant With Purpose

The Sunflower Crown Gala is more than a pageant — it is a leadership experience. Each participant receives mentorship, confidence‑building workshops, cultural education, and opportunities to shine. Every ticket, donation, and sponsorship directly supports the creation of the Sunflower Crown Academy, a private school for minority girls in South Fulton.

Key Values:

  • Leadership

  • Scholarship

  • Sisterhood

  • Service

Our work is rooted in the teachings of Mary McLeod Bethune — education as liberation, community as strength, and girls as the carriers of legacy. The Sunflower Crown Gala honors her belief that every girl deserves access to opportunity, dignity, and a future filled with possibility
