About the Sunflower Crown Academy Foundation
Rooted in South Fulton. Built for our girls. Inspired by legacy.
“The Sunflower Crown Academy Foundation is a South Fulton–rooted nonprofit dedicated to empowering minority girls through education, leadership, cultural pride, and community uplift. Inspired by the legacy of Mary McLeod Bethune, we are building a transformative ecosystem that nurtures brilliance, protects potential, and prepares the next generation of young women to lead with confidence and purpose.”
We did it! Sunflower Crown Academy Foundation is now an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
This milestone opens the door for greater impact, deeper partnerships, and expanded opportunities for the girls and families we serve. Thank you to everyone who believed in this mission from the beginning — the work starts now.

Meet the Founder
Queen Kamari is a visionary community leader, organizer, and advocate for minority girls and Black families in South Fulton. As the founder of the Sunflower Crown Academy Foundation, she is committed to building spaces that honor legacy, uplift culture, and create real pathways to opportunity.
Her work is rooted in the belief that when girls are empowered, families are strengthened — and when families are strengthened, communities thrive. Drawing inspiration from Mary McLeod Bethune and generations of Black women who built institutions from love, faith, and determination, Queen Kamari is carrying forward a tradition of excellence, protection, and purpose.
With a background in community organizing, youth development, and cooperative economics, she brings both heart and strategy to the mission. Her leadership is grounded in service, cultural pride, and a deep commitment to ensuring that South Fulton’s girls have access to the tools, resources, and support they deserve.
Why South Fulton?
South Fulton is more than a location — it is home. It is a community rich with culture, history, resilience, and brilliance. It is a place where families work hard, where traditions run deep, and where our girls deserve to see their potential reflected back at them.
We chose South Fulton because:
It is one of the largest majority‑Black cities in the nation
It is filled with families who value education, leadership, and community
It deserves institutions that honor and invest in its youth
Our girls deserve programs built for them, with them, and in their community
Sunflower Crown is committed to uplifting South Fulton from the inside out — building legacy, opportunity, and pride right where our roots are planted..
What We Believe
Every girl is born with brilliance. Our role is to nurture it, protect it, and help it grow.
Education is liberation. Knowledge opens doors, builds confidence, and creates generational change.
Culture is power. We honor heritage, identity, and the beauty of Black girlhood.
Leadership begins early. We prepare girls to lead in their homes, schools, and communities.
Community is everything. We rise together, support each other, and build systems that last.
Legacy matters. We are planting seeds today that will bloom for generations.
Our Impact
Sunflower Crown is building a long‑term ecosystem designed to transform lives and strengthen families. Our impact includes:
Youth leadership development
Cultural enrichment programs
Academic support and enrichment
Community partnerships
The Sunflower Crown Gala and scholarship opportunities
Family‑centered initiatives that uplift households
Our work is just beginning — and with every girl we empower, we move one step closer to a stronger, brighter South Fulton.
